Abstract

This is the ontology of the Italian (higher) education and AFAM application profile. The ontology models information such as enrolment in institutes (e.g., AFAM - Alta Formazione Artistica, Musicale e Coreutica, Universities, ITS), the qualification obtained with the corresponding grade, and the educational offer of these institutes. The modelling is used to define the API of the ANIS - Anagrafe Nazionale Istruzione Superiore (National Higher Education Register) database, as well as to map some evidence in the context of the European Single Digital Gateway. At the moment, the ontology does not model information about a student's Erasmus periods and mobility as well as course admission criteria. In subsequent revisions of the ontology, requirements will be gathered to also model these aspects.
