This section includes financial service activities, insurance activities and financial auxiliary activities, regardless of the technologies used to conduct these activities or support services. Three principal types of activities are classified in this section: raising, obtaining and providing funding (division 64); pooling of risk by underwriting insurance and annuities (division 65); and providing specialised services facilitating or supporting financial or insurance service activities (division 66). This section also includes activities of holding assets, such as the activities of holding companies and financing conduits and the activities of trusts, funds and similar financial entities (division 64), as well as the activities of reinsurance and pension funds (division 65). Questa sezione include le attività finanziarie, assicurative e le attività ausiliarie dell'intermediazione finanziaria indipendentemente dalle tecnologie utilizzate per svolgere tali attività o servizi di supporto. In questa sezione sono classificate tre tipologie principali di attività: la raccolta, l'ottenimento e l'erogazione di finanziamenti (divisione 64), il raggruppamento (pooling) dei rischi attraverso la sottoscrizione di assicurazioni e rendite (divisione 65) e la fornitura di servizi specializzati che facilitano o supportano le attività finanziarie o assicurative (divisione 66).
